How to Trade in Steal An Egg: No Trading System Yet
Updated 2026-09-02 · Roblox Steal An Egg
You cannot trade in Steal An Egg. As of Update 2 (Titan Temple, August 2026) there is no trade menu, no trade button, no gifting system and no way to send a pet or egg to another player. None of the community documentation for the game (the Fandom wiki, the Eurogamer pet list, the Destructoid codes page) mentions a trading feature, and the Update 1 and Update 2 patch notes reproduced on the Fandom Updates page list none.
The only way an egg moves from one player to another is the mechanic the game is named after: stealing. You grab an egg from a nest or from another player and carry it back to your own base. That is a one-way transfer with no consent from the other side, which is the opposite of a trade.
If you searched "steal an egg trade gift update" because you heard a gifting update was coming: nothing of the kind is documented yet. The only "gift" in the game right now is the free 10,000 Speed reward for liking, favoriting and joining the community, which is a reward from the game, not a player-to-player gift.

How eggs actually change hands
Steal An Egg is a steal-and-hoard game, not a collect-and-trade game. Every egg you own came from one of three sources, and none of them involve another player agreeing to give you anything.
| Source | How it works | Can another player take it? |
|---|---|---|
| Biome nests | Each zone has its own eggs guarded by a sleeping Guardian. Eggs reset every 5 minutes. Grab one and run. | Yes, once it is in your base |
| Other players' bases | Destructoid puts it plainly: "While you're busy stealing eggs, other players are busy stealing yours." | Yes |
| Robux Store and events | Limited eggs such as Brainrot Eggs and the Monster Egg do not spawn in nests. They come from the Store or from events like Admin Abuse. | Exact rules not documented yet |
The mechanics of stealing from a base (timers, locks, what protects a pen) are not documented in detail on the Fandom wiki yet. What is documented is the defensive side: the Bear Trap. You can only place a trap while holding an egg, you can have a maximum of 3 on the map at once, and anything that steps in one is stuck for 7 seconds. Traps cannot be placed inside the safe zone. See Machines and Speed for the rest of your defensive and escape options.
How to check for a Trade button after an update
The Fandom wiki's home page shows a countdown to the next update. A trading system would be a headline feature, so verify it yourself in under a minute rather than trusting a video title:
- Open the game and look at the side buttons on your screen. Trading systems in Roblox games almost always add a dedicated button labelled "Trade" or an icon of two arrows.
- Walk up to another player and click on them. Games with trading usually open a prompt to send a trade request on click.
- Open your inventory or pet list and tap a pet. If a "Gift" or "Trade" option appears next to "Equip" or "Sell", the system exists.
- Check the Updates page. Update 1 (Cherry Blossom, Sakura Incubator, Bloom mutations) and Update 2 (Titan Temple, Monster Egg, Hungry Frog event) both had full patch notes and neither mentions trading. A trade feature would be listed the same way.
If none of those four checks turns anything up, trading has not been added, whatever a thumbnail claims.
Trade scams to avoid
Because there is no in-game trade system, every "trade" offered to you happens outside the game, and that is where scams live. Every pattern below relies on you handing something over first.
| Scam pattern | What they say | What actually happens |
|---|---|---|
| "Drop it in my base" | "Put your Divine pet in my pen and I'll put mine in yours." | They steal yours and keep theirs. There is no mechanism to force the other half. |
| Off-platform "trade servers" | "Join our trading server, we have a middleman." | The game has no trade API for any server or bot to hook into. A middleman cannot move pets that the game cannot move. |
| "Trade for Robux" | "Give me your Eternal and I'll gift you Robux or a gamepass." | Whatever they promise about Robux, the pet cannot be transferred in-game, so you hand yours over and nothing forces their side. |
| Fake "trade update" videos | "New trade update, use this link to trade." | Links lead to phishing pages or account theft. The game does not have the feature. |
Simple rule: if the game itself cannot move a pet from your account to someone else's, nobody outside the game can either. Anything sold as a workaround is a scam or a rule-breaking tool, and this site does not link to or recommend any of them.
What to do instead of trading
Progression comes down to Speed and zone access, not other players.
- Train on the Treadmill and claim the free 10,000 Speed gift; that alone unlocks Desert (10,000 Speed).
- Push through the zones in order. Cosmic needs 700,000,000 Speed, Cherry Blossom 2,500,000,000 and Titan Temple 7,000,000,000.
- Hunt Secret and Divine eggs and Eternal eggs in the late zones rather than hoping someone will hand one over.
- Use the Mutations system (Bloom and Spirit Bloom via the Sakura Incubator) to multiply the income of pets you already own.
- Keep this page and the Updates log bookmarked. If a trade or gift system ever ships, it will be recorded here with the exact menu location and any limits.
